Sibel Penbeyan (Tziarbas) passed away on August 20, 2026, at UMass Lake Ave in Worcester, Massachusetts, at the age of 54.

Born on October 4, 1971, in Istanbul, Turkey, Sibel’s life carried her from her birthplace to Worcester, where she graduated from North High School in 1991 and remained deeply connected to family, faith, and the people and places that mattered most to her.

Sibel was Armenian Orthodox and grew up attending the Armenian Church of Our Saviour. Her faith remained part of the story of her life, and she was later married at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. These places formed part of the foundation of her upbringing and adult life.

She will be remembered by those who knew her as loving, kind, sincere, and sympathetic. Her family was always first in her life, especially her children. Even while facing personal, medical, and mental health struggles, she kept those burdens to herself out of concern that others would worry about her. Her love for her family was constant and deeply felt, and she especially loved and missed her father. Her family takes peace in her death knowing that they are now reunited.

Sibel also found joy in the simple things that made life feel personal and familiar. She loved animals, especially cats, and Southpaw, her cat, was part of her daily life and affection. The beach was her favorite place, a setting that brought her peace and happiness. She enjoyed watching cat videos, scary movies, and “Three’s Company,” her favorite television show. She also loved getting dressed up, going out, and spending time with friends and family. She has loving memories when helping her father in his pizza restaurant in Worcester (Green Street Pizza).

In addition to the memories she leaves behind, Sibel’s life is reflected in the people closest to her: her children, Kostantinos, Phillipas, and Elli Tziarbas; her mother, Elisavi Penbeyan (Isildakli) her aunt and uncle, Yetvart and Yercanik Penbeyan; and her aunt and uncle, Ardash and Hermans Penbeyan. She was preceded in death by her father, Vagarsak Penbeyan, who passed in 1987; her uncles, Koco and Phillip Isildakli; and her aunt, Sophie Prifti. She leaves behind several cousins, including her first cousins: Nicholas Prifti, Dorin Penbeyan-Wright, Nirva Penbeyan, Tasula Christoforou, Vasili "Bill" Isildakli, John Isildakli, Anastas "Ernie" Isildakli, and Nitsa Kerbici (Isildakli). She also leaves behind the father of her children, Athanasios Tziarbas.

Sibel’s wishes were that her remains be scattered over the water, a fitting tribute to the place she loved most.

She will be remembered with love by her family, her friends, and all who shared in the moments of her life. A Memorial Service will be held on August 28, 2026, from 04:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Callahan Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home 61 Myrtle Street. All are welcome to come say goodbye and pay their respects.
