WORCESTER-Silvia (Avakian) Ohanesian, 91, died Wednesday, November 10, 2021 in Holy Trinity Nursing Center.
She was born and raised in Istanbul Turkey and moved here in 1961. Silvia was a longtime and active member of Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church where she served in the Lady's Guild and the Armenian Relief Society (ARS).
Silvia was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Garabet M. Ohanesian on December 15, 2010. She leaves her son, Arsen Ohanesian and his wife Marsha of Worcester; a daughter, Louise Curelop, and her husband Gary of Leicester; five grandchildren, Adam Ohanesian, and his wife Jenifer, Marcus Ohanesian and his wife Katelyn, Marla Ohanesian, Samantha Curelop, Craig Curelop; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Oressa. She also leaves her two nieces Virginia Hovanesian, and her husband Gary, Ani Berberian, and her husband Artin.
Silvia was a wonderful cook and she loved to knit. She kept herself active by participating in the Silver Club activities at the YMCA. Silvia's family would like to thank the entire staff at Holy Trinity Nursing Center for the wonderful care they provided to Silvia throughout the years.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 16th in Holy Trinity Apostolic Church, 635 Grove Street. A visiting hour will be held in church from 10am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Silvia's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church.
