Worcester-Stephen L. Guinn, Jr. 80, passed away Saturday, June 28 in the Life Care Center of Auburn.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Margaret “Peggy” T. (Bradley) Guinn; two daughters, Tara Woodbury of Bolivia, NC and Stephanie Guinn-Burns and her husband, Brian Burns of Worcester; five grandchildren, Catrice, Connor, Aislynn, Sean and Jack; a sister, Jane Kennell of Ohio , his sister in law Anna Bradley of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. Four siblings, Joseph, Patrick, Thomas and MaryAnn Ream predeceased him. He was born in Charleston, WV son of Stephen and Lucy (Corkrean) Guinn and served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Stephen was a machinist for over 35 years at Norton Company, before retiring. Stephen took great pride in his daughters’ and grandchildrens’ accomplishments. He was a true outdoorsman and was happiest hiking and camping, but he also enjoyed sitting down to a good meal. He also had a strong interest in military history and aviation.
A Vistiing Hour will be held Thursday, August 7 from 2-3pm with a Prayer Service at 3pm in Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Activities Fund c/o the Life Care Center of Auburn, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501.
