Stephen J. Perry, 74, of Worcester died Wednesday, September 27, 2023, in his home.
He leaves two daughters; Stephanie Stuart and her husband Mark and Michelle Perry and her longtime partner Jason Catlett all of Oxford, two brothers; Kenneth J. Perry of Hendersonville, North Carolina and James M. Perry of Spencer, five grandchildren; Samantha Fisher and her husband Justin, Tyler Stuart and his wife Cynthia, Kelsey Stuart, Madison Cassella and Matthew Stuart, his former wife and friend Pat McDonald and her husband John of Oxford.
Stephen was born in Worcester, son of Joseph P. and Mae T. (Beauregard) Perry. He lived in Millbury before moving to Worcester in 1959. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade. He worked as an auto salesman for many years, mainly at Harr Lincoln Mercury in Worcester, and later opened his own dealership, Steve Perry's Auto Sales on Route 20 in Millbury. He later worked for the WRTA in Worcester , driving a city bus for many years before retiring.
Stephen was a friendly, helpful friend to all who knew him. He was a highly skilled billiards player and a member of a championship team of WRTA workers that toured the country competing in nationwide tournaments. His other passion was classic cars and attending car shows. He was a competitive and talented sports enthusiast and a life long avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13th from 4:00-6:00 PM in Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester followed by a service at 6:00 PM. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Worcester Animal Recue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
