WORCESTER-Steven P. Buniowski, of 102 Longmeadow Avenue, passed away Sunday, September 4 at home on his 46th Birthday, surrounded by his family after a long and courageous struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. He leaves his wife of 25 years, Nancy E. (Sullivan) Buniowski, two daughters, Kimberly Ellen Alario, wife of Steven Alario of Worcester and Kelly Patrice Buniowski of Worcester, a sister, Theresa Mayer wife of James Mayer of Worcester, a grandson, Alex Steven Alario, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Marie (Corcoran) Buniowski and a brother, Edward Buniowski.

He was born in Worcester and graduated from South High School. Mr. Buniowski was a group leader in the abrasives division at the St. Gobain Company, formerly Norton Company for 20 years, retiring in October 2000 due to illness. Steven enjoyed sports, playing for many softball and football teams in the Worcester Parks League, riding his bike and working in his yard. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. He also devoted many hours as a volunteer with the Worcester Girls Club basketball team, Connie Mack girl's softball and the pulmonary clinic at U MASS Memorial Hospital.

The funeral is Thursday, September 8 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 the morning of the funeral in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
