Steven E. Germain

Steven E. Germain, 58, of Auburn passed away peacefully at home with his family on May 17th, 2018, after a 9-year battle with cancer.

Steve is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Deborah (Gummow) Germain; three children, Caitlyn White and her husband, Timothy, Cara Germain and James Germain; three siblings, Karen Scavone, Thomas Germain and Michael Germain. He leaves behind his mother Noreen Germain Murphy and mother-in-law Catherine (Rogers) Gummow along many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Special thanks goes to Barbara (Bellerose) Germain and Kristin (Nelson) Germain and all of his closest friends who provided tremendous love and support throughout his care.

Steve was predeceased by his father Daniel F. Germain who passed away in 1984 and his uncle Patrick E. Germain who passed away in 2013.

Steve was a 1978 graduate of Saint Peter Marian High School and he received a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Salem State University. Prior to retiring, Steve was the Vice President of Marketing at BJ's Wholesale Club.

Steve was an avid athlete and competitor throughout the entirety of his life, playing hockey, baseball, tennis, running half marathons and playing golf. Steve enjoyed vacationing with his family, but most noteworthy were his numerous trips to Disney World. He loved concerts with his wife and friends, and lounging at Hampton Beach. Steve lived life to the fullest, always prioritizing his family and pursuing and planning the next trip. He will be deeply missed as much as he was loved by his family and many friends whose lives he touched.

Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with Steve's family on Monday, May 21st from 4-8 p.m. at Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester, MA. A brief memorial service will take place for close family and friends Tuesday, May 22nd at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a burial at Notre Dame Cemetery.
