WORCESTER- "Sue" Lucille (Habib) Corbett of Worcester died Saturday, November 6 at UMASS-Memorial University Campus after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was the daughter of the late Lucille and Thomas Habib. She leaves her husband, John her soul mate, love, best friend and her greatest cheerleader for the past 45 years. She also leaves two sons, Christopher John Corbett of Kernersville, NC and his wife Lori and Patrick Thomas Corbett of Worcester, MA and his former wife LeeAnn Corbett of Rutland, MA.
Her grandchildren Kyle Corbett of Rutland, MA, Miss Casey and Jordan Corbett of Climax, NC were the joy and love of her life. She was predeceased by her grandson Ryan Wooldridge-Corbett.

She leaves a sister, Ann Marie McPartland of Worcester MA, three brothers Thomas Habib of Carlsbad, CA, Joseph Habib of Paxton, MA and John Habib of Oakland Park, FL., several nieces, nephews and extended family and many wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her sister Carol Davault and brother Raymond Habib.

Sue graduated from Fanning Trade High School. She worked at the former Clark Manor Nursing Home for 30 years and the past 6 years at Beaumont's Skilled Nursing Home in Northborough in admissions. Sue has helped and touched many elders and families throughout her career. She has been an advocate for the elderly, served on The Commission of Elders Affairs for 6 years, Co-Chaired the Central Mass Alzheimer's Partnership Group for 7 years, Co-Chaired the Central Mass Memory Walk for 5 years. She was an active member of the Marlborough Hospital Collaborative Group and Senior Care Network Group. Sue developed and ran The "Over 50 Exercise Group" in many area senior centers and senior housing centers for the past 15 years most recently at The Worcester Senior Center. Sue received the 2009 award for "Outstanding Service to the Worcester Senior Center" this past November.

The family would like to thank Sue's extended families at Beaumont/Whitney Place, Salmon Health and Retirement and Parsons Hill for their love and support throughout Sue's entire challenge. The family would also like to express its heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at the Peter Levine Center for all the care and compassion they gave Sue.

Sue's funeral will be on Wednesday, November 10 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 9 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
