Susan E. (McEvoy) Stearns, 54, of 20 Cobblestone Lane died Sunday (Feb.17) at home after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 31 years, Peter C. Stearns, a son, Peter C. Stearns Jr. of Worcester, a daughter, Deirdre M. Wingell of Worcester, her parents, Joseph P. and Margaret (Strozina) McEvoy of Worcester, a brother, Joseph P. McEvoy Jr. of North Hampton, three sisters, Sharon E. Cahill, Margaret M. McEvoy-Ball, Justine M. Snow all of Worcester two grandchildren, several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester.

She graduated from St. Peter's High School and The Fanning School, she attended Worcester State College.

She taught at Worcester Vocational High School before retiring, prior to that she was a dental assistant for Dr. Edwards Marshall Morin.

She volunteered at Worcester Central Catholic School and Saint Peter's High School. She was a member of St. Peter's Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She served on the board of directors and as treasurer at the Keys School.

A Funeral will be held Wednesday (Feb.20) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Saint Peter's Church 931 Main St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling Hours are Tuesday (Feb19) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the SSJ Retirement Fund
