Worcester-Sylvia J. (Hindon) Tymon, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 6 in St. Mary’s Healthcare.
Her husband of 21 years, Thomas L. Tymon died in 2003. She leaves four children, Kimberly A. Hagg of Worcester, David A. Pratt and his wife, Christina of Worcester, Thomas W. Tymon of Worcester and John F. Tymon and his wife, Diane of Rutland; six grandchildren, Rebecca and her husband, Joshua, Joshua and his wife, Piia, Caleb and his fiancé, Scarlett, Elizabeth and her husband, Matt, Derek and his wife, Meredith and Dylan; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Isabella; a sister, Sandra O’Driscoll and her husband, Jack of Worcester and nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Audrey O’Leary and Jaqueline Hindon predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, Reginald and Beulah (Brown) Hindon and graduated from Commerce High School.
Sylvia worked in the printing department at the former Rutland Heights Hospital. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and in her early years was a bell ringing at Wesley United Methodist. Sylvia loved to ski and enjoyed travelling with her husband.
A Visiting Period will be held Tuesday, March 12 from 10-11:30am with a Prayer Service at 11:30am in Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. Burial will be private in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association in recognition of the Fallon Health Quit to Win Program.
