After a courageous 15-month battle with colon cancer, Tammi Lynne (Bolton) Mugford of W. Boylston, MA passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023, at the age of 61.
The oldest of three, Tammi was born on December 20, 1961, in Evanston IL to Cynthia (Berg) and Barton Bolton. Tammi, her parents and two younger brothers eventually settled in Massachusetts in 1976. She graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury High School in 1980 and later attended Burdett School of Business. Tammi pursued an administrative/office manager career, most recently as the office manager of Professional Hearing Healthcare Associates in Westborough, and very much enjoyed her work, particularly with her elderly clients.
Tammi eventually reconnected with Scott Mugford, whom she knew from their high school days. They went on to marry in October of 2000 and together raised daughter Stephanie and son Steven. There was never a more dedicated and protective mother. Tammi was a tried-and-true Momma Bear! She was her children’s biggest cheerleader and constant supporter, and in so doing, raised two beautiful, independent and accomplished adults. Tammi was first and foremost about family. Her family meant the world to her, and she would do anything for them.
Tammi had many interests and passions. She was a wonderful cook and amazing baker and loved to show it off through entertaining family and friends! She was a meticulous landscape and vegetable gardener (and the whole family benefited from the fruits of her labor). She enjoyed home projects such as repurposing old furniture and bringing it back to life. Tammi also LOVED antique shops and finding hidden gems. What Tammi loved to do the most, however, was get on the motorcycle with her husband Scott and just ride with friends on a beautiful day, particularly to Peterborough, NH, where she always enjoyed poking in all the shops. Tammi’s true happy place was Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.
In addition to Tammi’s parents Cindy and Bart, Tammi is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Scott; her daughter Stephanie, son-in-law Jake and her beloved joy and only grandchild, Olivia (Livie); son Steven and girlfriend Abby; brother Todd and his wife Jennifer and their daughters Delaney and Lily; brother Scott. She is also survived by an extremely loyal group of friends, first and foremost, Kim Jones. Kim has been a fierce, tireless, and unrelenting medical advocate as well as an unwavering, patient, and loving friend for Tammi in her last year, and for that, we will be forever grateful.
Funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
