Tay Ann (Timm) Jay died peacefully on Monday, June 24th in her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert who died in 1980. Mrs. Jay leaves sons Andrew Jay, Thomas Jay, Jeffrey Jay and daughter, Tracy Jay Robinson. She had six grandchildren; Roberto Jay, Andres Jay, Jeffrey Jay Jr. Carolyn Jay, Michael Robinson, and Andrew Robinson. She has one great grandchild Barron Jay and a brother, Terry Timm.
Tay Ann was born in Jackson, Michigan daughter of Theodore A. and Helen (Ferrick) Timm. She was a graduate of East Lansing High School and Michigan State University. A long-time resident of Worcester, she was involved in a litany of local organizations including The Worcester Historical Museum, The Worcester Art Museum, Memorial Hospital Aid Society, Higgins Armory Museum, Notre Dame Academy, and Tower Hill Botanic Garden. In Boston, she was involved in the Museum of Fine Arts, The Boston Ballet She also founded the New England Society for Asiatic Art. She loved Worcester and its people considering it her true home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Assumption University, 500 Salisbury Street, Worcester. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the Worcester Historical Museum.
