Thomas O. Desy

1946 — 2025

Worcester

FLORAL CITY, FL/WORCESTER: Thomas Owen Desy, known to most as Tommy, passed away July 8, 2025 surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He was born in Worcester, MA to Owen G. and Mary R. Desy and lived in Floral City, FL for the past 15 years.

A hardworking man, Tommy spent many years behind the wheel as a truck driver and owned and operated Lebren Distributing before retiring. He knew the open road better than most, he could read a map better than any GPS and always knew the quicker, smarter way to get from point A to point B.

Tommy had a deep love for travel and was endlessly curious about new places. He believed in exploring, and in finding the stories off the beaten path. He never backed down from a fight and life threw him more than a few, but his fighting spirit carried him through until the very end.

He had his fierce Irish loyalty that showed up when it counted. Tommy would drop everything to help a friend in need, no questions asked. He was real, raw, and unapologetically himself.

Of all the things Tommy loved in this world, nothing mattered more than his daughters, Lee Ann and Brenda, and his granddaughters, Dominique, Ava, and Mykaila. They were his heart, and his love for them ran deep and constant.

Tommy was predeceased by his beloved daughter Lee Ann Desy; his parents, Owen G. and Mary R. Desy; his brother, Ronald E. Desy; and his former wife, Mary K. Desy.

Tommy is survived by his daughter, Brenda Diggs, and her fiancé, Bobby Sanders; his granddaughters, Dominique, Ava, and Mykaila Diggs; his niece, Tina Morrill, and many cousins, as well as a circle of close friends who meant the world to him, especially Steve and Diane Burke, Gordy and Diana Fournier and Bill W. Their unwavering support in his final days was a true gift to Tommy and his daughter, and a testament to the deep bonds he built throughout his life. His stories, his grit, and his fighting spirit will be carried on by those who knew him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated nurses of the Cardiac ICU at HCA Largo Florida Hospital.
