Thomas F. Fennell 90, of 4 Ellen St. died Tuesday (April 15) at UMASS Memorial Medical Center-Belmont St. Campus, after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Mary B. "Molly" (McGrath) Fennell, a son, Thomas F. Fennell Jr. of Worcester, a daughter, Kathleen A. McDermott of Shrewsbury, five grandchildren and a great grandson. Two sons, James E. Fennell of Worcester died in 1975 and John J. Fennell of Spencer died 1991. He was born in Worcester, son of Patrick and Catherine (O'Hearn) Fennell. He attended Saint John's High School.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific Theatre prior to that he served in the Massachusetts Army Emmitt Guard.

He was a Mechanic with the U.S. Postal Service in Worcester for many years before retiring in 1978.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter %234, and the American Legion Post %234440.

The Funeral will be Friday (April 18) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. (www.faybrothers.com) with a Liturgy of the Word at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church 1290 Grafton St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Thursday (April17) from 5 to 8 p.m.
