Thomas L. Tymon 84, of Worcester, died Wednesday (Jan.29) at home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 21 years, Sylvia J. (Hindon) Tymon, two sons, Thomas W. Tymon of Worcester and John F. Tymon of Rutland, a step-son, David A. Pratt of Worcester, a step-daughter, Kimberly A. Hagg of Worcester, six grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. His first wife, Mary R. (Fletcher) Tymon died in 1975.Three brothers, Francis L. Tymon, Robert Murphy and John Murphy and a sister Mary Murphy, all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Thomas J. and Agnes B. (Brennan) Tymon. He graduated from Classical High School and Clark University with a Bachelor Degree.

He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and the Korean War.

He was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital at Rutland Heights and as the Director of Facility Operations at the State Hospital at Rutland Heights for 42 years retiring in 1988.

He joined the Boy Scouts Troop %2388 in 1931 serving as Assistant Scout Master and Troop Committee Man for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council %2388 and the Bishop O'Reilly 4th Degree Assembly and Saint Bernard's Church.

A Funeral will be held Saturday (Feb.1) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St. (www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10a.m. in St. Bernard's Church 228 Lincoln St. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Friday (Jan.31) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
