MILLBURY
Tyyne Lillian "Diddy" Pride formerly of 25 Howe Ave. died Wednesday, July14th in the Christopher House.
Her husband, Leroy L. Pride died in 1991. She leaves a son, Jonathon L. Pride of Boston; 2 sisters, Helmi Lehtola of Auburn and Irene Berg both of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Teri Patriquin of Dennisport; a goddaughter, Cindy LaBulge of Dennisport; 6 nephews, Wayne, Happy, Billy, Alan, Ronnie and Richard and 3 nieces, Norma, Paula and Louise and many grandnieces and grandnephews. A son, Thomas L. Pride died in 1996.
She was born in Worcester daughter of Adam and Ida K. (Ristilia) Tarkiainen and graduated from Girls Trade School. Mrs. Pride was a nurses' aide at the Lutheran Home for many years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Worcester, the Millbury Senior Citizens and volunteered at the Elmwood Street School Library in Millbury for many years. Lillian enjoyed knitting hats for family, friends, school children and hospitalized patients.
The funeral service will be Saturday, July 17th at 11:00 a.m. in Emanuel Lutheran Church, 200 Greenwood St., Worcester. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the church chapel on the morning of the funeral. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester is directing arrangements.
