Valerie J. Abarca

Valerie J. (Mara) Abarca, 58, died Thursday, February 4 in St. Vincent Hospital.
Her husband of 42 years, Carlos Abarca, Sr. died in 2002. She leaves three sons, Carlos Abarca of Wappingers Falls, NY, James Abarca of Snyder, OK and Frank Abarca of Worcester; a daughter, Catherine Kitzmiller of Craigsville, WV; two brothers, Joseph Mara of Virginia Beach, VA and Xavier Mara of Newport, DE; four sisters, Karen Brown and Kathy Lavigne both of Cohoes, NY, Joan Navedo of Putnam, CT and Charlene Frode-Hansen of Virginia Beach, VA; 19 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A brother, John Mara and a sister, Cheryl Farthing predeceased her. She was born in Albany, NY daughter of John E. Mara, Sr. and Olive J. (Baldwin) Mara.
