SPENCER-Victoria F. Perez, 85, died Tuesday, May 9 in UMASS Memorial Healthcare-University Campus. She leaves a brother, Vincent, and his wife Louise Perez of Shrewsbury, three nephews; John "Jack" Perez and Thomas Perez, both of Worcester and Mark Perez in Maryland, a niece, Donna Weagle in Maine, longtime friend, Jeannette Sargentelli, grand nephews and grand nieces. A brother Dominick F. Perez and a nephew David F. Perez predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ernest and Elisa (Possidente) Perez, graduated from Commerce High School and was a Marine Corp veteran of World War II. Ms. Perez was a policewoman for the Worcester Police Department for many years, retiring in 1979. She previously worked at the Worcester County Courthouse and as a young woman worked in the Suffolk Street Market which was owned by her father. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church and St. Pius X Church, where she was a church volunteer. She also belonged to the Woman Marines Association, Baystate Chapter and the Massachusetts Police Association.
The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 13, at 10 am in St. Pius X Church, 1154 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Callahan and Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
