Violet Marie Eklund

WORCESTER-Violet Marie (Paul) Eklund, 96, formerly of Mill St. died Friday, Feb. 9.

Her husband Bernard F. Eklund died in 1950. She leaves her daughter, Frances V. Manning of Worcester; two granddaughters, a grandson, three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Two sisters, Alice Goranson and Martel Premo and a nephew, Irvin Goranson predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of Marcel and Edith (Brockway) Paul and lived in Worcester her whole life. Mrs. Eklund worked as a housekeeper at Worcester State Hospital for 23 years retiring in 1974. She was a member of Christ the King Church and the Mill Pond Club.

The funeral will be Monday, Feb. 12 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 12:30 PM at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Feb. 11 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM in the funeral home.
