Virginia M. (O'Connor) Batt, 73, of 12 Phillips Dr. died Tuesday (Feb.19) in Saint Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 52 years Mitchell C. Batt, a son, John M. Batt of Exton, PA, two daughters, Linda M. Malgieri of State College, PA and Rosemary C. Kusy of West Boylston, a brother, Atty. John M. O'Connor of Fitchburg and 11 grandchildren. She was born in Fitchburg daughter of John J. and Madeline (Sullivan) O'Connor. She graduated from Saint Vincent's School of Nursing in 1948.

She was a Registered Nurse and was the Director of Nurses at Oakdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Boylston for many years retiring in 1984.

She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Woman's Club. She was a member of the West Boylston Woman's Club.

A Funeral will be held Friday (Feb.22) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 1 West Boylston St. with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 111 Worcester St. Burial will be in the spring in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Calling Hours are Thursday (Feb21) from 5 to 8p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Eastern Massachusetts 36 Cameron Ave. Cambridge ,MA 02140
