Virginia "Ginny" C. (O'Malley) Moloney, 88, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, February 11, 2019. Her husband of 56 years, Michael J. Moloney passed away on September 6, 2006. Virginia is survived by a son, Kevin M. Moloney and his wife Joanne of Millbury; a daughter, Joyce E. Simpson of Worcester; four grandchildren, Michael J. Moloney and his wife Caitlin of Warren, RI, Erin R. Moloney of South Boston, Brendan M. Simpson of Worcester, and Kerri M. Simpson of Worcester; a sister, Dorothy E. Gregoire and her husband Leo of Holland; and many nephews and nieces. Virginia was predeceased by a son, Martin J. Moloney; two daughters, Carol Ann Moloney and Maureen M. Moloney; a brother Martin O'Malley; and three sisters Margaret Logan, Agnes Wolons, and Theresa Pepin. Virginia was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Martin F. and Elizabeth J. (Deignan) O'Malley and attended Worcester schools, graduating from Commerce High School in 1949. She worked at the former State Mutual Insurance Company for many years. Virginia was a devoted mental health advocate who spent her life fiercely dedicated to those with mental disabilities, specifically schizophrenia. She was deeply proud of her Irish heritage and was a devout Roman Catholic. Virginia was an accomplished world traveler, spending her retirement years visiting many countries with her husband. Her most treasured times were those with her children, grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Virginia will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Virginia's Mass of Christian Burial was held at Saint Christopher Church, Worcester. Entombment with her husband was in Saint John's Cemetery Mausoleum.
