Walter R. Brennan, 75, of 91 Andrews Ave. died Sunday (March10) at his home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 47 years, Marlene J. (O'Connor) Brennan, a son, Walter R. Brennan of Greenfield, NH, three daughters, Sharon A. McGrail of Papillin, NE, Marlene F. Peters of Clintontownship, MI, and Colleen M. Goodwin of Worcester, a brother, Richard P. Brennan of Worcester, two sisters, Ruth Delaney of Port Washington, NY and Nancy Donnellan of Worcester, nine grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. a daughter, Margaret M. Brennan of Worcester died in 1962, a sister, Margaret Connolly of Southwick died in 1995, a brother, William Brennan of Worcester died in 1992. He was born in Worcester son of William A. and Margaret (McShera) Brennan. He graduated from Commerce High School. He was an army veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific.

He worked for the United States Postal Service for many years before retiring, after retiring he worked for WCIS Bank and Fairlawn Liquors, previously he worked for the Crompton and Knowles Company.

He was a member of the Chester P. Tuttle American Legion Post%2379, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter Four of Worcester, a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post %235663 in Oxford, and Saint Joan of Arc Church, he was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Alhambra Council %2388 and the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch %2312 and a past member of the Democratic City Committee of Worcester

A Funeral will be held Wednesday(March13) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home 9 Hammond St.(www.faybrothers.com) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church 570 Lincoln St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Calling Hours are Tuesday (March12) from 5 to8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joan of Church 570 Lincoln St. Worcester 01605 or UMASS Memorial Hospice 43 Harvard St. Worcester 01609
