WEST BOYLSTON- On January 3, 2021, Warren Henry Jacobson, a loving husband and father of three sons, passed away at his home following a long battle with cancer. He was especially grateful to Dr. Chrysalyne Schmults at Dana Farber and the dedicated visiting nurses Rose, Liz and Judy for their many years of care.
Warren was born in 1922 in Worcester, MA to Carl P. and Ellen (Ekstrom) Jacobson. In September of 1940 after graduating from Commerce High School in Worcester he started working at Norton Company in the Planning Office. On October 16, 1943, he married Muriel E. Parmenter. He served in the Navy until the end of WWII at which time he returned to Norton Company where he became supervisor of the Inventory Control Department. He continued his education and graduated from Worcester Polytechnical Institue's School of Industrial Management in 1969. Norton's was sold to Warner & Swasey Company where he continued to work until 1975.
He was an assistant scout master of Troop 13, the proud father of three Eagle Scout's, co-founder of West Boylston Community Baseball League, a member of Greendale Retirement Men's Club and for 75 years, a Master Mason of Morning Star Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Worcester. He loved camping and was especially fond of Sebago Lake, ME where his wife, sons, and eventually grandchildren would join him for a swim in the lake, a walk in the woods and sitting by the campfire.
He and Muriel spent their summers in West Boylston, their falls in Cape Cod and winters in Zephyrhills, Florida. He kept busy crafting.
He is grateful for all of the acts of kindness by his friends and neighbors, Pete, Jane, Sue, Janet and Mary. A special thanks to the Manor Restaurant, West Boylston and the Rotary Club for all of the wonderful meals that they delivered to him during the pandemic.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years Muriel Jacobson and his son Gary. He is survived by his son Paul of Rutland, his son Robert and his wife JoAnn of Andover, a granddaughter Marcie Jacobson of North Andover, grandson Mark Jacobson along with his wife Jennifer and two great-grandchildren Russell and Clara of Coralville, IA.
There will be a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West Boylston Senior Center or the charity of your choice. Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston is assisting the family with arrangements.
