VISITING HOURS WILL START AT 4:00 PM ON THURSDAY DECEMBER 13, 2007. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO ARRIVE AT 8:15 AM ON FRIDAY DECEMBER 14, 2007 FOR THE FUNERAL.
WORCESTER-Wilfreda S. (Snyder) Parsons, 80, died Monday, December 10 at St. Vincent Hospital after a brief Illness. For the past year and a half she had been living at the Golden Living Center-The Hermitage in Worcester. Her husband of 40 years, Thomas J. Parsons died in 1988. She leaves her two loving children, Linda Chandler of New Hampshire and John Parsons and his wife Donna of Paxton; her brother, John "Butch" Snyder; two sisters, Doris Krupinski of Dudley and Eileen Desjordy of E. Douglas; 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her son, Thomas Parsons, her daughter, Julia A. Ford, a brother, Robert Snyder and two sisters, Claire Vincent and Mary Coutue predeceased her.
She was born in Millbury the daughter of Wilfrid and Emma (Lazure) Snyder and attended Worcester and Millbury Schools. She worked at the College of the Holy Cross as the Bakery foreperson for 28 years. She was also a lecturer for Weight Watchers for many years. Wilfreda was an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and was very proud of her service as a Catholic Charities foster mother. She was very generous with her friends and family and will be missed dearly by all.
The funeral will be Friday, December 14 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge St. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
