Worcester- William Christopher Clancey, 63, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 25, 2019. Mr. Clancey leaves behind his children, Sean Clancey and his wife Laura, Joseph Clancey, and Jillian Moriarty and her husband Chris; four grandchildren, Addison, Teagan, Caleigh and Jack; his siblings, John, Thomas, Joseph, Mary, Margaret, Charles and David Clancey; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his brothers James and Mathew (Hawkeye).
William was one of ten children born to John and Alice (Brennan) Clancey on November 2, 1955. William graduated from the former Worcester Boys' Trade before beginning a 30 year career as a Union Carpenter with Local 107. Bill was presented with many service awards for his volunteer work with United Way, Friendly House and the Carpenters Union. A lifelong resident of Worcester, Bill was active with politics and assisted with many local campaigns.
Bill was well liked by everyone he came into contact with and was always willing to help out those in need. He spent countless weekends adding ramps to homes to make them accessible for those with disabilities. Bill treasured his time spent with family and was happiest while vacationing with his children and grandchildren. "Grampy Fix It" loved to spoil his grandchildren, who adored him and will miss him dearly.
Family and friends will gather to honor, remember and celebrate William's life on Friday, March 29th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at the Callahan, Fay and Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, March 30th in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
