William N. DePatsy

August 18, 1950 — April 26, 2017

WEST BOYLSTON - William "Bill" DePatsy, 66, passed away April 26th after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on August 18, 1950, in Leominster MA, he was the son of the late William and Celeste (Armillotti) DePatsy. He is predeceased by his brother, Michael DePatsy, and longtime friend, Bruce Peterson.

He is survived by his wife, Larissa Dyan, and her daughter Yevgeniya Pozdnyakova; his two daughters, Juel Cooper, and Lane Pomeroy and her husband Craig. He is also survived by Juel's former husband, Michael Cooper, whom he thought of as a son. Bill was the oldest of five, and the core, of a close-knit Italian family. He leaves behind siblings Debra Quist, Jack DePatsy, and Peter DePatsy.

Bill was a prideful man, who was dedicated to his family, his community, and his country. After graduating from West Boylston High School in 1968, he served six years in the Army National Guard Reserve. In 1972 he joined the Carpenter's Local 107, Worcester, where he worked as a carpenter for 37 years, until his retirement in 2009. He fondly recalled the years he worked with his father and Uncle Henry from 1966-1972. In 1979, Bill built his house that he lived in for the remainder of his life. Bill was a talented, hard working carpenter and completed the construction of his house while working full time. Bill took part in constructing many buildings and bridges in the New England area; to include schools, colleges, and hospitals.

Bill coached youth softball, volunteering for 12 years, and took pleasure in spending that time with his youngest daughter, Lane. Bill enjoyed fishing and, in 2013, was featured on a Chronicle special. Bill took pleasure in going for walks in the woods, and listening to country music. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife. In 2013, they visited Larissa's mother, Marina Afonina, in Russia. Bill was a devoted Catholic and was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church for many years.
