WORCESTER-William J. Glodis, Jr. age 83 of Worcester, Ma died peacefully in his home, with his family. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Burke) Glodis. In addition to his wife of 53 years, he leaves a son,Guy W. Glodis, his daughter-in-law Tina (Campanale) Glodis, along with two grandsons Ty William Glodis and Trey Anthony Glodis, all of Auburn, MA.

Mr. Glodis was born on April 6, 1932 in Worcester, the son of William J. Glodis, Sr. and Catherine Mary(Shea)Glodis. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Patrick Glodis. Mr Glodis was a lifelong resident of Worcester, MA. After retiring he spent much of his time at his summer Yarmouthport home on Cape Cod. He was a graduate of South High School, Class of 1950. He earned a Bachelor of Education Degree in 1959 and a Master of Education Degree in l961 from Worcester State University.

Mr. Glodis was a U.S. Navy Veteran volunteering to serve four years during the Korean War. He was a Petty Officer 3rd Class Aviation Machinist Mate and was awarded the Korean National Defense Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Vernon Hill Post 435 American Legion.

Mr. Glodis was a Guidance Counselor in the Worcester Public Schools for more than 42 years. He also served 18 years in the Massachusetts Legislature as a State Representative from the 16th Worcester District. He served under four speakers of the Massachusetts House, held numerous vice Chairmanships and was the Chairman of the Committee on Election Laws. He was a long time member of the City Democratic Committee and was Chairman of the Ward Six Democratic Committee for 32 years.

Mr. Glodis was elected to serve on the Charter Commission during the 1980's that adopted our present form of City Government. In honor of his service to the City of Worcester as a Legislator, the Soccer Field at the Vernon Hill School previously Providence St. Jr. High School, which Mr. Glodis graduated from, was named "THE WILLIAM J. GLODIS, JR. SOCCER FIELD".

A special thank you to family and friends, Dr. David Hatem at UMass Hospital, Dr. Donald Favreau and his wife Dorothy for their ongoing support, love and spiritual guidance, Judy and Fran Polito for their endless support and comfort, and the Jewish Healthcare Hospice (Melissa) for their excellent service.

Mr. Glodis will be deeply missed and loved by all that knew and respected him.

At Mr. William J. Glodis, Jr.'s request there are no calling hours or funeral services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the U.S. National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
