BOYLSTON-William Ivory, Jr., 78, of 17 Highland Street, died Saturday, March 18 in Autumn Village after an illness. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Phyllis J. (Anderson) Ivory, four sons; William Ivory and his wife Sharon of Poolesville, MD, Jeffrey Ivory and his wife Helen of Boylston, Bryan Ivory of Boylston, Dennis Ivory and his wife Ellen of Worcester, three daughters; Debra E. Army and her husband Lawrence of Worcester, Sandra P. Seith of Worcester, Pamela Klein and her husband Donald of Leicester, nine grandchildren; Timothy, David, William, Christine and Mary Catherine Ivory, Kathleen and Christopher Seith, Andrew and Elizabeth Klein, a great granddaughter, Morgan Rose Ivory, several nephews and nieces and his beloved dog, Molly. He was predeceased by a son, Heath Ivory, a brother, James Ivory and four sisters, Helen Mongeon, Christine McCurry, Jean Stark and Ann Ivory.

He was born in Worcester, son of William and Jane (Williamson) Ivory and graduated from Commerce High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS St. George in the South Pacific. Mr. Ivory worked at Wyman Gordon for 37 years retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Mary of the Hills Church, the West Boylston VFW and American Legion Post 204, Elks Lodge of Worcester, American Veteran's of Sanford, ME and once played the drums in the Worcester Kiltie Band. He enjoyed spreading the spirit of Christmas by playing a professional Santa for many years.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 21 from FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 West Boylston St. West Boylston, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross Street, Boylston.
