WORCESTER-William Henry Mullery, Jr., 82, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, January 21, 2021
Bill was born in Newark, NJ, son of William H. and Helen A. (Brooks) Mullery. Bill lived in Roselle Park, NJ until he joined the Army in 1964. Upon his return, he married his beloved wife of nearly 56 years, finished his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at night, and started his family.
Bill worked for New Jersey Bell Telephone (Verizon) for his entire career, rising through the ranks until he retired after 50 years. While his career was important to him, nothing surpassed his love and dedication to his wife and daughters. While living in Summit, NJ, Bill was first to volunteer as coach, troop leader, board member, or consultant. His wisdom was always in demand and he served many worthy causes throughout the years. Bill was always there for his girls- never missing a game, a play or a concert. He instilled in his daughters that anything was possible with hard work and determination and was so proud of their every accomplishment.
His love of the outdoors was shared with anyone who would listen. He treasured spending time with his family and friends at Asylum, his aptly name cabin in the woods. He taught many how to hunt and fish while maintaining respect for the beauty of nature. He spent countless hours walking in the woods while blazing new trails with his faithful dog Ally.
Bill is survived by his wife Judith A. (Tyska) Mullery of Berlin, MA, two daughters, Laura A. Mullery of Berlin, MA and Kathleen A. (Mullery) Sheehan, Kathleen's husband Gregory of Easton, MA and two grandchildren, Connor and Michaela.
Funeral Services will be private and are in the care of Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street.
