Sutton- William R. "Bill" Nelson, 35, of Sutton passed away on June 14, 2015 at UMASS Medical Center following a brief illness.
Bill was a friend to many; he will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was an avid fan of all sports but his favorite was soccer, a sport he played and enjoyed watching. An avid traveler his journeys included a walking tour of Europe and many cross country trips.
Bill was a 1999 graduate of Sutton High School and went on to earn his Bachelors of Arts degree in English from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH. He also earned his Baccalaureate Certificate in Reading and a Master of Arts degree in Intensive Special Needs from Fitchburg State University. He taught at two local middle schools and was very involved in his student's lives and education.
He leaves his beloved parents, Robert W. and Sandra E. (Lindberg) Nelson of Sutton; his aunt, Ruth Lindberg, who was his loving godmother; his uncle, John and his wife Donna Lindberg; cousins, Todd and Brian Lindberg, Lisa Antaya, Jeffrey and Craig Jernberg and his aunt, Marie Murphy. He was predeceased by his aunt, Janice Dupre and his cousin, Edmund L. Lindberg.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the LINDQUIST-LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester. A private memorial service will take place at the Quinsigamond United Methodist Church at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins St., Worcester or to the Sutton Food Pantry.
