WORCESTER-William R. Voellings, 88, passed away on Monday, October 12th. Williams's wife of 46 years, Louise E. (Hjelm) Voellings passed away in 2002. He leaves his three daughters, Carol A. Voellings of South Carolina, Jean M. Katz and her husband Ricky of Pennsylvania and Debra L. Moran and her husband Michael of Worcester; his son, Carl Voellings and his wife Linda of Worcester; two grandsons, Brendan Bodinizzo and wife Renee and Sean McSheehy and wife Erin and granddaughter, Ryan McSheehy; two great grandchildren, William and Zoe; two brothers, Paul Voellings of Auburn and Ralph Voellings of Leicester and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Ernest, Conrad, Herman and John Voellings and two sisters, Dorothy Morang and Eleanora Perry.

William was born in Worcester the son of John C.F. and Hilda T. (Nelson) Voellings. William proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a steel and cable worker for 28 years at U.S. Steel Company before retiring. After retirement, William worked security at Worcester Art Museum and T.J. Maxx Corp. He was a former member of the West Boylston VFW Post 6907. He loved target shooting, pool, photography and most of all loved spending time with his brothers and sisters.

A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 10:00 until 11:00 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at CALLAHAN, FAY & CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472
