Zaida Torres Sanabria, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 23rd at her residence in Worcester. She was born in Mayague, Puerto Rico to the late Flor Sanabria and Matilde Marti Pratt. Zaida was the loving wife of the late Elubert "Ruben" Torres.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children Efraim "Frankie" Pacheco and his partner Priscilla Rodriguez of Southbridge, Saadia Roman and her husband Ramon L. of Spring Hill FL, and Ibette Torres of Worcester. Zaida is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as her siblings Flor Sanabria, Jr. and Eugene Sanabria both of Ft. Lauderdale FL, Roberto Sanabria of Atlanta GA, Beatriz Sanabria of Ft. Lauderdale FL, Eneida Cintron Sanabria of Port St. Lucie FL, and Rominita "Monin" Doble of Orlando FL.
Zaida had a deep love for music, enjoyed arts and crafts as well as sewing, and had a passion for writing poems. She dedicated many years working as a teacher's aide in the Worcester Public School Systems. She was also a hairdresser for several years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, July 2 from 5-7PM at Callahan Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, located at 61 Myrtle St, Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, at 10AM at the funeral home followed by a burial at Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
