Zenaida Calderon-Melendez

Zenaida Calderon-Melendez, 79, passed away on March 10, 2021 at UMass Medical Center.
She was born in Loiza, Puerto Rico on November 28, 1941 a daughter of Lorenzo Garcia Calderon and Juana Carrasquillo Melendez. She was educated in Puerto Rico and for many years, Zenaida worked as a seamstress for the Converse Company. She was a Christian and never missed a Sunday school, she also was very helpful in the community and very empathetic with everyone.
She is survived by her children, Ruth Mateo of Worcester MA, Jesus Sanchez from Cánovanas, PR, Luis Sanchez from New Jersey, Carlos Sanchez from Boston MN, 19 grandchildren and 12 grant grandchildren.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on the Tuesday, March 16th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 17th at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
